On March 15, 2020, Cinema Detroit closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Within a week or so, we had pivoted to virtual cinema, and by the end of the year, we had our own streaming service, known as Cinema Detroit Marquee. This platform allowed us to present films online and in some cases, both online and in person.
